My family has lived on the shore of Lake Erie for many years. This is where we started collecting beach glass. My mother stored the beach glass in the cellar in shoeboxes. After I retired from teaching, I uncovered the boxes and decided to learn how to wrap the glass. From the early days of wrapping the glass, I have progressed to drilling the beach glass. I do not change the beach glass in any way except to boil it to insure that it is sanitary. I have been creating original beach glass jewelry for five years under the business name “Beach and Bead Creations.”
I have shown my jewelry in many juried shows from Western New York to Rhode Island. Each piece is highlighted by using sterling silver and beads to accent the glass. It is very satisfying combining the natural beauty of the beach glass with beads and silver.
